Staff: Dave Bainbridge, General Counsel. Staff will update the Committee on amendments to Regulation 18450.12 to add language clarifying the circumstances under which disclosure is required in campaign advisements that have been created or modified using AI, as well as amendments to Regulation 18401 to make explicit that recordkeeping requirements extend to all committee advertisements, and includes a requirement to maintain copies of any original versions of materials used to create advertisements that have been modified using AI. Committee members and staff will discuss proposed additional amendments to the language of Regulation 18450.12 and to Regulation 18401 to be included when these regulations are presented for adoption at the August Commission meeting.
